OUR FOCUS FOR THE CITY OF BALTIMORE

Most of the time, focus is thought of as zooming in at a micro level to determine the greatest potential. Many think of focus in terms of a magnifying glass focusing a ray of sunshine leveraging the pinpoint power of the sun to maximize its effectiveness.

In our context, we feel the opposite is true. We feel that in order to be most effective, we must zoom out. Our heart is to take a big picture approach to meet the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of the city of Baltimore. As a result, we will go broad and make every effort to strategically address a wide array of needs in the city of Baltimore.

Heart for the City                             - Pastors Brad and Mary Dickey

We have a deep love for the people of Baltimore City. The moment we first drove through down Eastern Avenue, we felt a deep love… God’s love for this city. The diverse population scuttling in and out of stores, waiting for busses, collecting change, and trying to make something more of their lives. This… This got our heart.

While our hearts are moved with compassion, they are also moved with what CAN be and what ought to be. God designed each one of these people for something greater! We want to see God’s dreams come alive in people that He loves infinitely more than we ever could.

    Transformation – Not Treatment

The biggest difference between Adult & Teen Challenge and a traditional recovery center is our focus on Christ. Our programs depend on the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s word to provide our students with a guiding light. Treatment is important, but transformation is key

  • Hope city school of urban missions

Our goal is to equip indigenous leaders from America and the nations of the world by offering an affordable theological education combining academic instruction with practical hands-on ministry and personal mentorship. Real People... Real Hope... Real Life.

The word Real can be a bit overused in the modern culture, but it seldom means real. It usually means, tough or raw or even angry. That's not what we mean. We actually mean, well... Real.

It seems like (in a the postmodern context) being real is equated with being cool or different. Honestly, we're not trying to be different, we're not trying to be cool, we're not trying to do anything more than bring the truth of Jesus to a city that is very broken, and counterfeit can't do that!

  • adult and teen challenge of baltimore
